About Us

Almar Pumps was created from Almar Metal Products, a company formed by Alistair Heyworth who had his own Steel Fabrication plant in Blackburn, employing over 200. It was a semi retirement scheme, to continue servicing a specialised market in the paper mill manufacture business, after the original company had been broken up.

The company had purchased stock and components, telephone numbers and customer database from Datapumps, a local firm which had closed down, but had been trading for over 25 years, and was the victim of the economic slump of 2008. With engineering experience and Data Pumps sub contracted fitters and sales manager, the company was formed, with a website called UKPUMPS.CO.UK to aid marketing, as mail order and site visits was the direction in which the company wanted to go.

The company will supply both pumps and sundry equipment to anywhere in Europe, with site visits and installation accross most of the north west of England, and Isle of Man.

We specialise in both pump sales and maintainance of pumping installations, renewel, upgrade of pumps, motors and bespoke control panel upgrade and installation, from single pump systems to multiple installations.

Applications include single drainage pumps for gardens with poor drainage through to farmers and agricultural pumps, sewage for domestic and caravan parks, through to industrial applications, leisure parks, hotels and public aquariums.

Customers include Biffa Waste, Lancaster Cattle Auctions, Fylde Borough Council, South Ribble Borough Council, The Isle of Man Government, Blackpool Pleasure Beech, Blackpool Tower and Blackpool Sealife Centre, various construction firms, development firms, landscapers, caravan parks, hotels and waste disposal sites.

We also install Scada, telemetry control systems, and pumping systems to protect the environment from exposure from chemicals and toxic waste which leeches from landfill sites accross the country.
